Pokémon Day 2026 has officially arrived and we are in for a special 30th anniversary Pokémon Presents showcase this morning. The Pokémon Company officially revealed that it would be hosting a special live stream event on February 27 and it kicks off very soon.

Happy Pokémon Day 2026 Trainers! Today’s festivities are kicking off with the launch of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 and the release of the all-new Pokémon LEGO sets, both of which are now live. Shortly after that, The Pokémon Company will host this year’s special 30th anniversary Pokémon Presents showcase for a look at what’s to come in the Pokéverse this year – TCG, mobile titles, new Switch games, and more. 

Pokémon Day is tomorrow folks, and it’s already set to be a big one! This year marks the 30th anniversary of the very first Pokémon Red and Blue games, we already have the official release of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, all-new gameplay for the upcoming Pokémon Pokopia, and tomorrow’s Pokémon Presents on the schedule, but there’s much more to come. This is it folks, we are less than 24 hours out from the big-time 30th anniversary Pokémon Day celebrations. We have already had some exciting announcements, product reveals, and more ahead of the official date, so let the countdown begin!

The annual Pokémon Presents is now set in stone for this Friday, and it should be a big one. Not only does it land on Pokémon Day (February 27) but this year’s showcase also marks the 30th anniversary of the original Gen 1 Pokémon Red and Blue and things have already kicked off with a bang. 

Just after the announcement of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for Switch and Switch 2, Nintendo has now scheduled lengthy showcase set to deliver nearly an hour and half of gameplay for the new Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park as well as a closer deep dive look at Pokémon Pokopia ahead of the next Pokémon Presents on Friday. 

Nintendo is kicking off the Pokémon 30th anniversary in a big way today with the announcement of Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Red for Switch. Or more specifically the remakes of those Gen 1 games that originally released on Game Boy Advance – Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. But what’s new in the Switch versions? Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen officially announced for Switch and Switch 2

Special 30-year anniversary Pokémon Presents announced

Now just one week away from the 2026 Pokémon Day festivities, the official anniversary Pokémon Presents show has been announced, and today Nintendo is helping to kick things off early with the announcement that Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version are releasing on Nintendo Switch very soon.  

Nintendo unveiled its new My Mario toy and collectible lineup last summer before officially launching it stateside last month. Fast forward today and you’ll now find some of the Nintendo Store exclusive live in its New York and San Francisco storefronts as well as the new and very FREE My Mario app available for download on iOS, Android, and on the eShop. 

Nintendo just revealed the Xenoblade Chronicles X Switch 2 Edition launch trailer on its official YouTube channel and via the Nintendo Today! app. The digital version of the game is available today.

While we are still tracking a host of ongoing Presidents Day Switch game deals at Amazon and elsewhere live down below, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 has just hit its best price ever on Amazon as of this morning. Regularly $70, you can now land proper U.S. physical copy of this one for Switch library down at $59 shipped – this deal is also live at Walmart now as well. While we have been tracking this same price over at Woot for a U.S. copy, this is the first time we have tracked the game down this low directly on Amazon. New Virtual Boy officially launches on Switch and Switch 2 today

We were lucky enough to attend a private hands-on Nintendo event to try out the new Mario Tennis Fever, among other things. You can scope out the details in our video coverage below, but Nintendo has also just released the game’s opening cinematic to get you hyped to hit the court later this week. 

A couple weeks ago we got our first good look at the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie after the world premiere trailer landed late last year. We also got our first official look at Yoshi and now Nintendo and Illumination have just uploaded another new quick look at the upcoming galactic Mario adventure.

Nintendo is set to host its first Partner Showcase of the year to give folks a solid 30 minutes of upcoming Switch and Switch 2 games this morning and to celebrate we are highlighting a host of notable Switch 1 and 2 game deals live at Amazon, Woot, and elsewhere. Nintendo officially confirmed this week’s Nintendo Direct showcases yesterday, and it is set to go live this morning. Rumors and predictions pointed at an official livestream hitting the airwaves in the first week of February and that it very much is, with a full 30-minutes of updates on upcoming Switch and Switch 2 games. 

Rumor had it we would be getting the next Nintendo Direct this week, and Nintendo has now confirmed as much. The next Nintendo Direct will go live tomorrow at the usual time. Details below. 

While we await the next title to land in the coveted GameCube library, and just after getting a chance to get an early hands-on look at the new Virtual Boy, Nintendo has just officially revealed a Switch Online February 2026 update with a pair of new additions to the Game Boy library.

Update: Nintendo has officially revealed the April 16 Switch release date for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream – it is “also compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.”

Right on the heels of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct from last weekend with our fist look at Yoshi and some new details ahed of the April release, an official announcement was made for another Nintendo Direct stream and it is set to go live this morning. 

While many Switch 2 gamers are squarely focused on the GameCube lineup still, one of Nintendo’s oft-maligned and tantalizingly quirky platforms is also set to make its worldwide debut on the Switch Online Nintendo Classics platform – Virtual Boy. The new physical hardware headset is now up for pre-order for Switch Online members and Nintendo has now unleashed an overview trailer for the platform with the launch lineup.
