The summer PlayStation State of Play showcase goes live today. We get more than a few State of Play broadcasts per year, but none quite as big as the big June show, and it all starts very soon.
Sony officially announced the 2026 Days of Play Sale yesterday, just as we expected, and everything is going live today. The annual celebration features hundreds of digital game deals, price drops on physical PS5 games at Amazon and other major retailers, a rare deal on Ghost of Yotei at Walmart and Amazon, as well as deals on PS5 controllers, PS VR2, and more – it all goes live today.
The 2026 PlayStation Days of Play sale has been officially announced. Sony has taken to the official PlayStation Blog to reveal details on the annual sale event and we have everything for you below.
It is that time of year when the big game publishers start to announce their massive summer game showcases, and Sony has just penciled itself in with the next PlayStation State of Play.
Update: PS5 hardware is scheduled to jump up in price at some point today.
Last week Sony announced sweeping and particularly significant upcoming price hikes across the current-generation PlayStation hardware – PS5 is about to get a whole lot more expensive. Starting this Thursday PS5, PS5 Digital Edition, and PS5 Pro are going to be $100 and $150 more expensive and you might want to score one now before that happens.
It’s not over yet folks. Not that anyone really thought it was, but prices on PlayStation hardware are going up…again. Sony has now officially announced price hikes on PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote player.
Alongside the Amazon Big Spring Sale deals, Sony has also launched gigantic Spring PS5 game sale of its own. Now live on the PlayStation Store, the PlayStation Spring Sale is now in full swing with deals on “a vast range of games that include iconic blockbusters, acclaimed classics, and more.” We are talking about up to 75% off here from now through April 22 and when Sony says vast, it means it. Ther are over 5,400 games and DLC add-ons racing from Astro Bot and EA sports titles through to Arc Raiders, Avowed, Elden Ring, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and far too many t run through right here. Earlier this week Sony officially announced when its first major State of Play showcase of 2026 would be, and that day has arrived. Throughout the year we get our fair share of these things, some far less special than others, and while we aren’t sure exactly what’s on the slate this afternoon, all signs point to this being a serious showcase.
